For a while now I’ve been planning to launch a new monthly section/page on here which would feature someone from the village eg local business people, residents who play or have played a significant role in village life etc. I’d started to compile a list and one of those on my list was Sandra Parker – former teacher at the village school and staunch supporter of and contributor to village events of all sorts. Sadly Sandra passed away in September so I can’t think of a better way to launch this page than with a tribute  to her. I’m sure we all have our memories of her but I’ve shared a few of mine below.

I didn’t know Sandra as well as some but in the 5 years we’ve lived in the village I’ve learnt

that she loved her family, beer, knitting, the village, Scotland and researching her family history

not necessarily in that order! She was also an excellent cook who made fantastic cakes.

Thanks to her I was introduced to the Faversham Weather Station Facebook page as well as to a

number of family history-related pages, all very useful and all of which remind me of her whenever I

use them. Unassuming but irreplaceable, we’ll all miss you. Just make sure you BEHAVE!
